Pot lucking

Anne's away in China, having a blast. The last few times she's been gone, all we lab people have had a pot luck, because we can. So, naturally, we're having one this time, too.

As the designated baker, I signed up to make that blueberry cream pie. It's not baked, but it's delicious, anyway. And, as a bonus to me, it's super easy to make. It's just as easy to make two as one, so I did.

Here they are with the cream filling. They chilled out while I made the blueberry goo for the top.

And here they are with the blueberries on top. Yum!

But, simple things never being enough, I decided to make a Pablo, too. It's a spice marble Pablo that I just kind of made up on the fly. Here's hoping it's edible. Pablo in the bowl and getting fed.

Out and cooling. It smelled pretty good, so we'll see how it ends up tasting.

And then, because I was bored taking a break from thesis-writing, I made a chocolate pumpkin tunnel cake. I wanted to bake something, but had very little white sugar, only one stick of butter, and no chocolate chips. It was difficult finding a recipe I could work with, but this one fit the bill. Here's hoping it's good, too.

Out and cooling. And, because of the pumpkin and whole wheat flour, we can pretend this one's good for us!

And then, just because I never can leave well enough alone, I whipped up a little lemon glaze to put on it.

I can't wait until tomorrow to eat all the good food!
